I had been out of shape and overweight for a long while...

My problem was that  I didn't know where to start. I knew it was a matter of just getting started. I was introduced to Ideal Protein and with that and the help of my counsellor I was able to tackle the task. Through my coach, I was able to overcome some of the obstacles that I encountered. The European river cruise was fantastic, I knew, because I gained 13 pounds...

I only had one pair of pants that fit. It was time for a serious diet! 

Your Last Diet was probably the one diet that I hadn’t tried before.  I started just in time for Christmas – maybe not the best time to start a diet considering I only lose 1 pound a week, if I’m lucky, on other diets. 

Well, did it work!  I lost the 13 pounds in two months, and I enjoyed Christmas and New Year’s Eve.  Perhaps the biggest benefit that I’ve noticed, so far, is that I haven’t gained anything back since I stopped dieting.  I’m sort of watching what I eat, but I’ve been on holidays for three weeks where I didn’t watch at all, and I’m still at the same weight.  Pretty amazing!

Your Last Diet and Diabetis

I began the Ideal Protein diet at Your Last Diet Centre in Kelowna with such trepidation.  After all I had signed up for so many other diet plans over the years with no success.  I would lose 5-9 pounds and then stop losing.  So I had decided that I would never buy into another diet again for fear of setting myself up for yet another failure.  However, I had seen the amazing weight loss that a friend had achieved on Ideal Protein and decided to make this my last ditch effort.  And I am glad I did.  Here is what happened.

My initial purpose was of course to lose weight, but I soon I discovered an even more important benefit relating to my health.  I have been a type 2 diabetic for 25 years and as it is a progressive disease I was on 50 units of insulin (rapid and long acting) per day.  If anyone had told me that I could reverse diabetes I would have said "Hogwash!"  Well I was proved wrong. 

Within one month I had reduced my insulin dosage to 4 units long acting and 0 rapid acting with blood sugar numbers in the normal range.  I am just 5 feet in height and weighed 151 pounds. After 12 weeks I reached my goal of 130 pounds and while phasing out I lost an additional 4 pounds.  I also lost about 30 inches. My HbA1c is now 6% well below the acceptable number. In addition, I have never felt better in my life.  Friends comment on my appearance as looking healthy and radiant.  And I achieved these results even though I was on the Alternative Plan for diabetics.  I regard it as nothing short of a miracle.  Needless to say, I also appreciate being able to cut back on the high costs of my medication.

Not only is the science behind the diet sound, but the weekly coaching and daily videos are truly excellent.   Without talking down to you the doctor clearly explains the science in an intelligent and clearly understandable way.   My coach Diane Wiebe went above and beyond my expectations, keeping in touch with me between some of my weekly visits to ensure that any questions or issues I had were resolved.   Each week I received a newsletter from Diane with helpful hints, recipes and interesting articles. The videos would start my day and keep me super aware of what and why I was eating according to plan.  Besides, seeing steady losses each week kept me motivated.

I found the foods to be enjoyable and once I got into the swing of things, the plan was so easy to follow.  As I begin maintenance, I am thrilled that I can eat in a new normal way to keep the weight off.  The lifelong plan makes perfect sense. I have learned what and how much to eat to suit my individual needs.  I need never feel deprived. And I am enjoying my new wardrobe and fitting into clothes that I had been about to mothball!

Easiest weight loss program I have ever been on. Watched friends on the program losing weight with no effort while I dieted and went to the gym 5 days a week and never saw the scale move an ounce. I thank my friends every time I see them for telling me about Ideal Protein.

I wasn’t reading the emails when I first started last summer.

Being busy, I put them all in a folder on my computer. I loved the weight loss I experienced over the past winter, took a break for a vacation and promptly (very quickly!) gained it all back on a path of self-destruction. So...I now read the emails faithfully, contemplate the material  – love this one, by the way – and am back on track being kind to myself in many ways...weight loss is a great side effect of that.

Thank goodness for this program and my coach!!!! She’s the reason I felt comfortable coming back after my “failure”.

I started the Ideal Protein Diet Program in early January with Your Last Diet Centre in Kelowna.

I was overweight and started to have blood sugar readings in the diabetic range as well as controlled high blood pressure on medication and high cholesterol.

I am definitely not a vegetable fan, so this aspect of the diet was a challenge for me, but with the IP puddings and drinks it made my life easier, and the diet much more acceptable. I stuck to it and lost my goal 25 lbs in a little over two months. My cholesterol is in the normal range for the first time in about 20 years, I was able to reduce my blood pressure medication, and best of all my blood sugar is now where it should be.

I would definitely recommend it as a weight loss program as well as a way of bringing your health numbers into the proper range.

I initially wanted to go on the ideal protein diet to get rid of the candida that had been in my body for years. I knew the diet was perfect , no carbs, sugars, fruit and the added bonus of losing 2-3 lbs per week and the health benefits of providing a long overdue rest for an over-worked pancreas. It was quite an amazing revelation to have all that happen to my body in a short period of time.

Since starting my Last Diet 5 months ago, I have lost 70 pounds!

I am a wife and mother of two young children (2 & 3 years of age). I have tried many different weight loss programs over the past few years but I was always disappointed with the results no matter how hard I tried to stay “on program” until I found Ideal Protein.

Initially, I thought that the program appeared to be somewhat expensive but in reality, especially when you don’t buy all the “other” bad food, there was really no significant increase in our family’s grocery bill.

One side benefit to the program is that my husband has also lost weight since I changed the way I cooked the family meals. In addition, both of my children are also eating a healthier diet! 

I love the variety of the food products. There is a food or flavour for everyone. As a busy young mother, I really appreciate how easy the meals are to prepare - it is truly amazing!

I am so thankful that I can now run, chase & play with my children so much easier and I have much more energy than I could have imagined.

To be honest, I expected “problems” or “ issues” or other difficulties in my first week. I expected to suffer in the same manner, particularly with the taste or quality of the food. I would like to write some words of praise for all the help I have received on my journey with the Ideal Protein Diet from the wonderful team coaches at the Okanagan Natural Care Centre and at the Peachland Fitness Centre. Even though I realize all these amazing ladies do have an emotional ownership in their jobs, since they have been through the program as well as being counselors for it, they go above and beyond to give encouragement and any kind of necessary help required by their clients.

I appreciate their attention to detail in finding suitable products for me as well as taking the time to answer questions when I inquire about facts that I didn’t consider when I come across stumbling blocks. Diane, who happens to be my neighbor also, has delivered products to my door on weekends and at late hours on her way home.The enthusiasm and extra hours that demonstrate genuine caring show how much they are willing to dedicate themselves to their profession, all to my benefit.

When I am going through rough times, it is easy to be depressed and talk about things that aren’t working so the weekly newsletter and emails remind me that there are things that have changed and are working. It does have a positive effect on my actions and I appreciate all the personal contributions that each woman on the team makes. This has been one of the best choices I have made. To date I have dropped 27lbs. I have more energy than I ever had, I sleep better at night and I feel just great! 3 months later, I lost 45 pounds.

Weight was initially 211, 3 months later I am 166.6 pounds. Total loss 45 pounds with no cheating. Actually it was a lot easier that I originally thought. Great job girls, you kept me strong.

My name is Gail. I am 61 years old. I am 5 feet 2 inches tall.

I am a sugar addict who, through years of eating junk food and not exercising, had reached a weight of 183. I had lost weight many times, typical yo-yo dieting, over the years.  It always came back on, but with more pounds added each time. I hated going shopping, looking at myself in the mirror, going swimming or being social. I was even too embarrassed to go to the gym to do anything about my condition.

I was due to retire in June and felt motivated to look after myself so I can enjoy my retirement in a good healthy condition.   I didn’t find it hard, as I was stuffed with so many good vegetables and tasty protein.  My blood pressure went down to a very healthy level.  My cholesterol level became better.  I felt amazing, years younger and certainly much more energetic.  As a Kindergarten teacher, I could run around the gym and across the fields with my students. The pounds just dropped away and all the misery too. Within 5 months I had lost 53 pounds.I felt great at my daughter’s summer wedding wearing my size 8 dress after having worn size 14 for so many years.

I keep attending the learning sessions and have learned WHY to eat properly, not just HOW! I spent my first summer in a bathing suit!

Today, my challenge is not to put any weight back on. The Your Last Diet Centre staff have been a great support. It’s very reassuring to get helpful and sympathetic advice, and to see other people are dealing with the same problems.
