About the BIA – BioImpedance Analyzer System

It is exciting to introduce our BIA equipment. The BIA is a helpful tool in bringing your body up to peak performance by giving a tangible starting point and highlighting areas that could use some TLC. It is excellent to use in conjunction with a personalized program, showing improvements every step of the way.

The BIA allows us to get a close look at how we are functioning on the inside. It can determine lean muscle mass, extra and inter-cellular hydration (how much of your 8 glasses of water is being absorbed by your cells?) and bone density. The readout even shows each person’s Basal Metabolic Rate or how many calories your body burns at rest. The ratio of fat in our bodies is important to know as we embark on this journey to weight loss and the results of your diet will show as increased muscle and decrease of body fat.

How it works

Sensor pads are placed on the client’s right wrist and ankle. A sensor cable attaches to the pads and plugs into the analyzer. The analyzer then generates a harmless low-level electrical current (about the equivalent of a double A battery), which flows through the body from one sensor to the other. The resulting print out shows the complex impedance in response to this current.

It takes less then five minutes to set-up the test, analyze the body and print the results. Analyzer tests are accurate to within 0.1% of resistance and 0.2% of reactance and phase angle. The BIA is not intended for use on pregnant women, persons with diagnosed heart problems or those with any implantable electronic device.

Pre-Test Preparation

To obtain the best results from your BIA assessment, please follow these guidelines: no alcohol consumption within 24 hours prior to the test, no exercise, caffeine or food within four hour prior to the test. Drink 2-4 glasses of water 2 hours prior to taking the test. Note: The test still works without these guidelines. These are suggested for maximum accuracy.

The Method

There are four phases in the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Protocol. During all four Phases you will receive one-on-one coaching, teaching you how your body gains weight and what you should be eating in order to maintain a balanced weight.
